President Obama planned to give a speech outside the room. This speech was not political in character but more of an effort to strengthen US-Irish relations.
Obama's trip was conducted a few days after Queen Elizabeth II visited Ireland. After Ireland, Obama will continue his visit to France and meeting with world industrialized countries. His visit to Europe will be terminated in Poland.
